This two-day workshop offers a rare opportunity to profit in person from the insights of Prof. Joseph Shaules, a leading figure and best-selling author in the field of intercultural training. It provides foundational knowledge in the psychology of intercultural understanding, and introduces a growth-oriented approach to intercultural education and training grounded in cultural and cognitive psychology.
Sessions explore four areas of inquiry into deep culture:
- how culture shapes the mind,
- the psychological impact of foreign experiences,
- the natural biases that make intercultural understanding difficult,
- and ways to deepen cultural learning.
Participation in the workshop can be used to acquire credit for certification by the Japan Intercultural Institute.
